Loaner Cars

The Motor Works

Trying to figure out how you're going to get around while your car's being serviced? No problem!!! We have a fleet of loaner cars that our customers can use for FREE! There isn’t a new Porsche in the fleet, but our loaners are reliable, have air conditioning, and a functioning radio or CD player.

Please note that our loaners are meant for short-term use and are offered for a maximum of 48 hours. If repairs will require longer than 48 hours we can help you find an affordable rental car.

The car truly is free, but there are a few conditions: you will be required to take full legal responsibility for the loaner and return it with at least ½ tank of gas. Our insurance limits the use of the loaners to a 50 mile radius of our shop. You also must be at least 25 years of age and have a valid driver’s license, along with proof of insurance. A letter from your spiritual advisor may be required. (Just kidding about the letter!)

How to Avoid Buying a Flood-Damaged Vehicle

Hundreds of thousands of vehicles were flooded by the recent hurricanes in Texas and Florida.  And many of these vehicles will soon be for sale on the used car market.  While a seller may make all kinds of promises about such a vehicle, there is no such thing as a good deal on a flood-damaged vehicle.  Despite the fact that flood-damaged vehicles should be identified as such, there are all kinds of illegal schemes for getting damaged vehicles re-titled with non-salvage titles.  Over the years we have seen many flood-damaged vehicles and in most cases our customers had no idea the vehicle had been flooded.  When cars are flooded it is generally the electrical systems that take the worst hit.  And repairing water-damaged electronics is terribly expensive.  Picture throwing your computer or television into a lake.  If you’re in the market for a vehicle, be extremely cautious.  Check for musty smells or a muddy water line under the seats and in the trunk.  If you find a vehicle you’re particularly interested in, please have us perform a Pre-Purchase Inspection.

                               Good luck out there, Rick
